iMovie - importing from other locations.
iMovie - importing from other locations.
1 - Click on File.
2 - Select Import in the drop-down menu, slide your pointer over Movies, and release.
The file I wanted to add was downloaded from a location on the internet where a friend had set up the file for me. You may have received extra film footage for your movie from friends or family as well. Maybe you were given the file on a USB Drive which you attached to your computer and dragged the file onto your hard drive. Or they sent it by email, if it was just a small clip, or they knew how to send it as a .zip file, or have it available on a website for download. How that is done is beyond the scope of this section. For this exercise, we will assume you have a movie file already located on your computer.
3 - Select the clip you want and click import.
7 - The movie file should now be listed in the Event Library.
4 - You can add the movie file to an existing Event, or Create a new Event. I choose new, by clicking on the button beside Create new Event.
Note, if the movie is on a different hard-drive, the drive would show up here, listed under “Devices” in the left pane. Click on the drive, then select the video in the right pane.
5 - Don’t forget to type a name for the event.
6 - If the file is already on your computer, you could save space and select Move files.
