Saving and Locating Passwords On Firefox.
3 - A line appears asking you if you want to save the password. Note that this line is easy to miss. Click “Yes”.
Say you want to save the password for a Gmail Account.
1 - Type your name and password as usual and click on the check box beside “Remember me on this computer.”
2 - Then click “Sign In.”
4 - Click on Firefox in the Menu Bar, and select Preferences.
5 - Select Security in the Toolbar.
6 - Click on the box to the left of Remember passwords for sites to put a checkmark in it. Now Firefox will save the passwords.
That’s it! You’re done! Firefox will store the username and password.
Once set up, Firefox will automatically store passwords that you use for online services, such as Gmail, Facebook, Yahoo, etc in the Keychain Access Files.
But what if Firefox does not ask save it? You will have to do some set up.
7 - While you are here, consider clicking on the box to the left of Use a master password to put a checkmark in it.
If you do not want to use a master password, don’t check off the box, but keep in mind that anyone can access this file and locate the passwords stored here.
8 - Want to see the list, or make changes? Click on Saved Passwords. A window opens listing the websites for which you have passwords saved.
All passwords will be listed beside the websites and usernames. Remember that anyone can easily locate and look at the contents of this file, so if you want to keep the passwords more secure, be sure to set up a Master Password.
9 - To see the passwords, click on the button at the bottom right.
✓ Even with a Master Password, never store banking or Paypal passwords.
✓ Make passwords hard to guess: use a combination of letters and numbers.
