Adding Music to your Slideshow
Adding Music to your Slideshow
1 - Click on the “Music” icon.
3 - Select “Sample Music”. This gives you a list of short music clips provided by Apple.
4 - Make a selection by clicking on it.
7 - You can also use music you have created yourself on GarageBand, or music you have purchased through iTunes, or recorded onto iTunes from albums you own. Keep in mind that you cannot sell slideshows with music for which you do not have copyright permission.
9 - Here you can choose to Repeat the music (a) or (b) fit the slideshow to the music.
Click “OK” when done (c),
8 - Click on “Settings”
5 - To listen to one before adding it, Click the play triangle.
6 - Click “OK” to use the selection in your Slideshow.
Hint: If your slideshow is longer than the music you have selected, you could repeat it, (see 9a above), or you can take the time to make a music folder with enough music to last the duration of the slideshow.
To do this, you first need to know how long the slideshow is. If you have 100 slides set to show 3 seconds each, that should be 30 seconds or 5 minutes, right? Not necessarily. In practice, I have found that the slideshow is longer. My sample slideshow has 12 photos set at 3 seconds each. That should be 36 seconds. However, when I make a quick time movie, it runs for 51 seconds. If your slideshow is long enough that you want to use more than one song for background, place the songs in a new playlist, then select the whole playlist.
10 - You are done.
4 - Click “Export”.
5 - Now open the Movies folder and locate your movie.
1 - Select “File”.
So, my advice? Make a quick time movie to find out the time the slideshow will run, and use that as a guide for selecting music.
7 - Locate the triangle shaped indicator at the start of the movie.
9 - Notice that the time of the slideshow is given. This is the correct length of time needed for music.

Making a Quicktime Movie
You can email a slideshow by making it a Quick Time Movie.
2 - From the drop-down menu select “Export”.
3 - Give your project a name. By default, it should be saved to the “Movies” folder.
6 - Double click to Play. The Quicktime Player will open in a window.
8 - Drag it to the end. Or you can just move your pointer over the end of the movie and click there. The indicator will move to that location.
